Sold Out
Using fantastic library footage, this is a definitive account of the most titanic conflict in history, the war the world will never forget.

The year 1939 saw the start of the second pan European war in just 30 years. It involved every major world power in a war for global domination which, at its end, had cost the lives of 50 million people whilst Europe and large parts of Asia lay in ruins.

The countdown began on the 9th March when the Czechoslovakian President, Hacha, sacked his pro-German Prime Minister. Just 6 days later, Hitler sent his troops into Czechoslovakia to impose a protectorate. The legal government was suppressed and the Gestapo began rounding up any who might oppose invasion.
There was international outrage but no positive moves to block the enlargement of Germany. Britain and France accepted the inevitable and began a massive rearmament and subsequently declared war, while the Soviet Union joined Germany in taking territory from the hapless Poles.
This DVD takes you through the major events and battles of the Second World War, using some of the most unique original library footage currently in existence.
